Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT have presented challenges and opportunities to university faculty and students. The number of new tools continues to grow and AI is now embedded in familiar software. These tools may cause disruption, but they may also provide new ways to engage students in their learning and prepare them for life after graduation.
This website is intended to acquaint you with GAI and to give you some suggestions for its use in the classroom. Each page on this site can serve as a standalone resource based on your background knowledge and teaching goals. If you want to approach the content sequentially:
- Start with background information about GAI: What is it and what are some of the ethical implications?
- Then move on to how you might address GAI on your syllabus: Will you allow students to use it for coursework and, if so, what are your expectations?
